Where Does Barack Obama Stand on Women's Issues?

Women in Business has compiled information about Sen. Barack Obama (D-Illinois) to help understand where Obama stands on women's issues and how he has supported women in business.

The following ratings are from women's special interest groups that support the causes of women. Obama's overall ratings are good when it comes to serving the interests of women but were significantly downgraded for the year 2007.

Sen. Obama is still relatively new to politics and as a result lacks the lengthy historical data on women's issues that can be found for Sen. Joe Biden and Sen. John McCain. Time will tell where Obama truly stands on women's issues, but his 2008 campaign platform has addressed many issues important to working women.
