The Center for Women's Business Research(CWBR) released a brief called the "Environmental Consumerism Among Women Business Owners,” that reported the environmental friendliness of a product does have a moderate to major influence on the purchasing habits of 77% of women decision-makers in business.
The brief showed a link between the length of time a woman has been in business with how important it is to her to make eco-friendly choices. The brief also showed a correlation between the level of concern for the environment and on women business owners' philanthropic behavior.
The longer a woman has been in business, the less likely she is to be concerned with making business purchases and choices that are environmentally-friendly. Specifically:
- 85% of women business owners who started or acquired their firms after 2003 say that environmental friendliness has either a moderate to major impact on their purchasing decisions; but
- Only 64% of women in business for twenty years or more indicate the same impact.
