How BusinessFinance.com Works
BusinessFinance.com is a free web-based service that allows you access to a list of potential funding resources uniquely matched to information you input about your business and personal finances, and the type of funding you are seeking. Free registration is then required to see your list of matches, but there are no gimmicks.
Types of Financing Resources
Among the site’s offerings you will find information and specific funding leads for the following financial and funding resources:
- Small Business Loans: SBA small business loans, economic development loans, start-up loans .
- Working Capital Funding Sources: Merchant advances, micro loans, business credit cards, equity loans .
- Commercial Financing Sources: Asset lending, account receivable factoring, purchase order financing .
- Commercial Mortgages: Sources of commercial real estate lenders, mortgage bankers, construction loans .
- Equipment Financing Sources: Equipment leasing, software financing, and cash-out sale leasebacks .
- Equity Investments Sources: venture capital, investment banks, government SBIC investors.
Resources and Other Free Services
Here are a few things I like about BusinessFiannce.com’s free services:
- The no-frills website does not shove ads down your throat.
- They offer comprehensive financing resources for small, mid-size, and large businesses.
- They include government and private funders, as well as incubators and angel investors.
- They offer many free “how to” business publications and resources that are invaluable including fast-find links to chambers of commerce throughout the United States.
- The lists they offer contain full contact information as well as information about specific funding and the option of sending inquiries (rather than automatically being formally contacted by lenders).
- Support ticket center and video tutorials.
- Free. Everything is free!
How I Assessed BusinessFinance.com
I suspect that BusinessFinance.com serves as a massive advertising web portal for many lenders (but not all) who pay something to be included. But they have thousands of listings and there are no hidden charges or tricks.
I input real financial data for my nonprofit to test their services and was matched with 24 financing vendors, all of which were close or “spot-on” based on the type of financing I was looking for.
My results did trickle in some other options (such as credit cards) I was not looking for, but the majority of leads were relevant.
My match list included contact information and details about specific lending programs and I saw no evidence of spam.
However, as with any financing program borrower beware. Just because a company is listed with BusinessFianance.com does not mean you do not have to be careful.
I also own a sole proprietorship and created an account as a for-profit business owner seeking funding. I searched for similar funding types and amounts but the list of leads was different from that generated for my nonprofit, as it should be, because lenders serve different types of businesses and financing needs.
BusinessFinance.com may or may not be drawing from a paid-for-advertising pool, but the "catch" is free and still a great place to start.
