Put it First, But Write it Last
Even though the executive summary will appear first in your business plan you should always write it last. This way all the information in the rest of your business plan can be more easily summarized.
General Writing Tips
- The keyword to remember here is "summary." Do not get too wordy. Be as brief as possible while summarizing your business plan.
- Make it compelling but avoid using complicated concepts or jargon.
- Do not try to sound smarter or more important than the person reading your business plan. If they do not understand it, they are not going to want to invest in your business.
