Why You Should Read This Questionnaire

If you are starting a business or just need to determine new ways to be competitive you need to begin by writing an outline for where to start (new businesses), what you are doing now, and what you want to do in the future (existing businesses). If your business is struggling, you also need to outline problem areas.

Business counseling can be expensive and time consuming (but this it not stay a mentor or counselor are not valuable - they are). When you meet with a counselor or mentor they often being by asking you questions about your business and goals.

The questionnaires (below) contain questions a business counselor would likely ask you to think about. They are divided into sections and can serve as a foundational guide and offer links to more information on each topic to help you answer your own business questions to:

  • Plan your start-up business;
  • Think about ways to grow an existing business;
  • Help you come up with a new business model to become more competitive; and
  • Focus on areas in need of improvement or change for a struggling business.

After you have considered each of these questions you can use your answers to prepare or update a business plan, write a feasibility study, and create a business model. For convenience, this questionnaire has been divided into four sections:
