The "Sandwich" Generation.  73% of adults in their 40s and 50s who have at least one child age 18 or older, have provided at least some financial help in the past year to at least one such child. Many are supporting children who are still in school, but a significant share say they are doing so for other reasons. (The Washington Post)

As long as 24 years.   "For those applying for work visas because of their "extraordinary ability," including high-ranking professors and international business executives, there is virtually no wait time.
