Now through Dec. 21, anyone can help children in foster care find permanent, loving homes. All you have to do to help is tweet using #TreatItFwd until December 21, for which Wendy's will donate 50 cents to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption (DTFA). Wendy's will donate up to $25,000 to the Foundation in support of Wendy's Wonderful Kids, the signature program of DTFA that focuses on moving America's longest-waiting children in foster care into adoptive families.
Wendy's was one of the first major companies to create policies that were adoption-friendly. While many companies offer maternity leave, too few still offer adoption leave. Wendy's advocacy to support families -- no matter how they are created -- in the workplace is commendable.
