In a recent article, I discussed how offering coupons to specific customer groups can help broaden your customer base. It seems that J.J. Cardinal's Wild Bird and Nature Store is applying this principle to a contest. In a very clever marketing approach, they are running a contest for kids. This is a great way to get kids involved in nature and bird watching and generate new customers - their parents.
The store is is running an essay contest for children up to 8 years old and will give away a new laptop computer to one lucky child. To enter, kids need to submit an essay of 100 words or fewer on how they will use the computer to learn and help others.
Enter the contest online at jjcardinal.com/olpc-entry-form.htm or visit J.J. Cardinal's Wild Bird and Nature Store to pick up an entry form. The store is located at 12830 S. Saginaw Street in Saginaw, Michigan. Contest deadline is January 9, 2010.
