How to Ask Family and Friends for a Business Loan

Saturday July 11, 2009
For the fourth straight week the stock market has seen a downturn. According to Dawn Bennett, CEO of Bennett Financial Group, "Nobody's investing because there's no reason to invest." To make money matters worse for women, getting a loan from banks can still be difficult, and many consumers have already maxed out their credit cards to pay other bills.

More business women start (and run) their businesses using their own personal finances than do male business owners. One reason can be attributed to the fact that men simply have more access to credit than women, who are also more likely to turn to family and friends for business loans than men.

Asking for money from family and friends is rarely an easy thing to do but may be necessary to fund your small business. But there are some basic rules you can follow to make it easier on yourself, and easier on those you ask to invest in your business. It is important that you never take personal relationships for granted or expect someone to give or lend you cash - even if according to your standards, they have “money to burn.”

How to ask Family and Friends for Cash For Your Business offers valuable advice on how to do business with family and friends and avoid putting a strain on your personal relationships.
