About.com's WIB congratulates Mary Cay Kosten, Vice President of Global Customer Services for Sun Microsystems, Inc., on receiving the Denver Business Journal's "Outstanding Women in Business" award on August 7, 2008. Kosten was recognized as being an outstanding woman in business for high tech and telecommunications.

Sun Microsystems provides computer networking and data storage for clients around the world and it is Kosten's job to ensure Sun's clients receive outstanding customer service. Kosten, who's job involves a great deal of travel, says her job is never boring managing thousands of employees.

According to the Greg Avery of the Denver Business Journal (August 8, 2008), Kosten's job involves "brainstorming about strategy for her multinational work force one day and interacting with executives from Sun’s clients the next. In one recent 10-day stretch, she had meetings in Frankfurt, India, China, Japan."

If you are a women in business who has received an award, please share the good news! Hearing personal success stories encourages and inspires other women in business, and WIB would love to hear from you. Post your own awards and kudos here, in WIB's forums. You can also read stories of successful women entrepreneurs, or submit your own story, in WIB's Profiles of Successful Women in Business.
